Product Overview
The 8600-2012D Co-Located Dual-Mode Soil Flux Chamber is a next-generation soil flux chamber developed by PRI-ECO for long-term ecosystem carbon and nitrogen cycling research and greenhouse gas budget observations.

The system addresses challenges in conventional soil greenhouse gas measurements, where paired measurements of Net Ecosystem Exchange (NEE) and Ecosystem Respiration (Reco) can be affected by spatial heterogeneity and temporal mismatch. The 8600-2012D performs continuous paired measurements on the same measurement base by automatically alternating between transparent mode and opaque mode.

The system integrates PRI-ECO technologies including Dynamic Pressure Equilibrium™ (DPE™), Distributed Spatial Sampling™ (DSS™), and Integrated Chamber Mast™ (ICM™), enabling measurement of CO₂, CH₄, N₂O, and stable isotope fluxes with compatible analyzers.

Core Technologies
1.Co-Located Dual-Mode™ Continuous Paired Measurement

The system performs transparent chamber closure (NEE), environmental recovery, and opaque chamber closure (Reco) cycles on the same measurement base. This eliminates paired errors caused by spatial differences, root distribution variation, and time-window mismatch.

2. Dynamic Pressure Equilibrium™ (DPE™)

A patented pressure balancing structure minimizes pressure differences between chamber and ambient atmosphere, reducing wind disturbance, pump effects, and pressure signals caused by chamber operation.

3. Distributed Spatial Sampling™ (DSS™)

An evenly distributed cross-shaped sampling structure with balanced flow channels improves chamber-scale gas representativeness and reduces errors caused by concentration hotspots and dead zones.

4. Integrated Chamber Mast™ (ICM™)

The Integrated Chamber Mast integrates distributed sampling components, gas ports, environmental sensor channels, and pressure equilibrium interfaces, improving system integration and maintenance.

5. Environmental Recovery Design™

After measurement, the chamber automatically moves away from the measurement base to restore natural sunlight, rainfall, and wind conditions.

6. Self-Locking Drive™ & Flood-Resistant Housing™

Precision worm gear drive provides mechanical self-locking and power-loss holding. The enclosure provides IP67 protection for long-term deployment in wetlands, rice paddies, tidal zones, and permafrost environments.
